Jacob Rees-Mogg and me

The Story Behind the Photograph
Jacob Rees-Mogg and me: the art of the political picture

Online on Saturday 12th September, 2020 at 7pm (BST)

You are invited to this special event where my SixBySix colleague and friend Craig Easton will interview me about one of my most iconic and widely-published images – the photograph of aspiring English politician Jacob Rees-Mogg taken during his failed attempt to be elected as an MP in Fife, Scotland in 1997.

SKU: Online-JRM Category: Tags: ,

I will reveal the story behind how the photograph was taken, the circumstances of an extraordinary day on the doorsteps of Glenrothes and what happened next as the career of Jacob Rees-Mogg became intertwined with the photograph over subsequent years.

The event will be held exclusively online via Zoom and will not be broadcast elsewhere. It would be a privilege to have you in the audience on the night, where there will be a chance to ask questions and comment on the photograph and the wider issue of how politicians are represented in photographs.

The event costs £8 to attend, will last for approximately one hour and places are limited. If you sign-up but find you cannot attend on the night, I will send you a recording of the event to view afterwards.

Thank you for your interest and support – I am looking forward to a stimulating, entertaining and thought-provoking evening.
